when an artist wants to show you their art

or a writer wants you to read what they’ve written

it’s quite often an expression of trust

because a poem or a story or a painting are often things that come from the heart

little pieces of the artists themselves

and if they’re willing to share it with you

you should appreciate it

My mom is yelling at my brother and I overheard this. Mom: GO TO YOUR ROOM
Brother: that's not fair
Mom: DO AS I SAY.
Brother: You never send Lizzie to her room when she's in trouble!!
Mom: Lizzie never leaves her room. If she were in trouble I'd make her sit in the living room or go outside or talk to human beings.
Me: I CAN HEAR YOU.
korrashorts:

Look at Korra. She’s so overwhelmed with the responsibility of keeping Republic City safe, and fulfilling the enormous shoes Aang left behind. She’s overwrought because she can’t airbend, and she hasn’t entered the Avatar State yet. She really feels alone in this. I think Korra really values control, and not having the control over the situation makes her act rashly—like going after Tarrlok. I think Korra believes that part of being the Avatar is always having a handle on the situation, and she doesn’t; she’s just a teenager. But then she looks at Aang, who defeated the Fire Lord at a younger age, and she can’t help but make comparisons and feel inadequate about her progress.
I just feel so bad for her.
